Due to several unforeseen circumstances meaning several attendees are unable to attend it has been decided to cancel the July Weekend away in Cheshire. Hopefully, we can keep this one in Reserve for the future and thanks to Gill and Andy for the preplanning.
Tarporley is a large village and civil parish in Cheshire, England.
This year’s July weekend away will be based in and around Tarporley, about 11 miles from Chester.
Andy is beavering away to map out walks for the weekend, and Gill has arranged accommodation.
Gill has found a place that does Bed & Breakfast, accepts Camper Vans, Caravans, and Tents, and has it’s own Pods. If you intend to join us on this trip you really need to book your accommodation now.
The place Gill has found is New Farm and the contact details are:
As always, you are free to arrange your own accommodation anywhere in the area if that is your preference, but it would be nice if everyone was in the same location.
The Fleckney Walking Club have three weekends away during the year. These occur usually in May, July, and September. The July one this year has been brought forward to the end of June.
There are normally three walks during the weekend: a short one on the Friday once everyone has arrived and settled, a long one on the Saturday followed by a meal at a local hostelry, and a short one on the Sunday to allow people to get back home by Sunday night.
The organisers will have walked the routes in advance and will advise members of the start times and locations and will have organised transport if necessary.
