Here is a list of some of the apps I'm aware of.

Memory-Map allows you to navigate with your phone, tablet, PC or Mac using a wide variety of maps available for many parts of the world. It is designed for outdoor, off-road use, with topographic maps, marine charts and aeronautical charts. Maps are stored locally on your device, so that they can be used without any connection to the internet.

A life-saving app that everyone should have

Gaia GPS has both a mobile app and a website. The mobile app (phones, tablets) is useful while you are doing your activity – hiking, skiing, offroading, hunting, etc. In the mobile app, you can see your location on the map, track where you’ve travelled, download maps for offline use (with a Premium subscription), and much more.

Organic Maps is one of the few applications nowadays that supports 100% of features without an active Internet connection. Install Organic Maps, download maps, throw away your SIM card, and go for a weeklong trip on a single battery charge without any byte sent to the network. It is a privacy-focused, open-source fork of the Maps.me app

Open Canal Map comes in three flavors: Google Maps overlay, Android app and iPhone/iPad app. The Andoid and iPhone apps are built using Mapbox. This means they can offer a more intuitive interface while boating. The Google Maps version allows you to search for shops and travel directions from withing the Google Maps App – available for Android and iPhone.

Pub walks

The Pub Walks app is packed full of walks from the front door of each pub. It provides an easy to follow route and shows your position on the map as you walk.
The maps and routes work offline so it’s also great for remote areas with no phone signal.
